Here's a video I made from the re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings 940th anniversary last year. The Battle of Hastings is one of the best known and least known historical event in the English-speaking world which along with the year 1066 is beaten mercilessly into the head of every school child through-out the English-speaking world and then some. The song is from the Secret Commonewealth, a Celtic Folk Rock Band from my college town in Murfreesboro. It's a period piece not necessarily on the battle but around the time period. The theme of a woman mourning her husband's loss though is eternal.http://www.myspace.com/thesecretcommonwealthBlog stories on the Battle of Hastings:1066 Reduxhttp://samuraidave.wordpress.com/2007/10/23/1066-and-all-that-redux-part-1/Viking Interludehttp://samuraidave.wordpress.com/2007/11/03/a-viking-interlude-1066-and-all-that-redux-part-two/Winner Takes Allhttp://samuraidave.wordpress.com/2007/12/01/battle-of-hastings-winner-takes-all/Make sure to check out the other two vids in the Battle of Hastings Trilogy:Battle of Hastings set to Excalibur Themehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOwW04V4NA4The incident with a wayward minstrel:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-wLv7t9XgQ
